St. Francis Naggalama Hospital
The Drug and Therapeutics Committee (DTC) at St. Francis Naggalama Hospital conducted an audit to evaluate prescribing practices that necessitated pharmacy intervention. The audit reviewed 120 prescriptions and identified key discrepancies primarily related to mismatches between the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and actual pharmacy stock. The findings emphasized the need for improved communication among clinicians and pharmacy staff, as well as regular updates to the EMR to ensure accurate prescribing. Recommendations include enhancing teamwork, continuous education, and adherence to national guidelines.
