Congenital Hypothyroidism (CH) significantly impacts children's growth and cognitive development. This guideline was developed by a working group of endocrinology and pediatrics experts to standardize the screening and management of CH. It includes 64 recommendations across 8 parts, focusing on the effectiveness of neonatal heel-prick screening for thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and the importance of early and adequate levothyroxine treatment. Regular monitoring of serum TSH and free thyroxine levels is crucial for improving the prognosis of affected children.
