Internal Medicine
Nephrotic syndrome is characterized by an age of onset typically between 50-60 years, with a male to female ratio of 2:1. Approximately 25% of patients are asymptomatic, while common symptoms include fatigue, weight loss, and anorexia. Diagnostic findings may involve a high WBC count with marked lymphocytosis, albumin-cytologic dissociation, and reduced albumin levels. It can also be associated with conditions like B12 deficiency and motor neuron disease.
