PROSPECT Working Group of the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy
In 2021, the PROSPECT working group published guidelines for managing post-caesarean section pain. This update incorporates findings from a literature search conducted in February 2023, which included 36 randomized controlled trials and seven meta-analyses. The updated recommendations reinforce the use of dexamethasone and highlight the effectiveness of various analgesic techniques, including wound infiltration and regional blocks. The document aims to improve pain management strategies for elective caesarean sections based on the latest evidence.
