Nanjing Central Hospital
Glycemic variability (GV) is linked to metabolic complications in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and pre-sarcopenia is prevalent among older adults with T2DM. This study aims to clarify the relationship between GV and pre-sarcopenia, assessing key GV parameters as predictors of muscle health. Conducted in the Department of Endocrinology at Nanjing Central Hospital, the study involved 292 hospitalized adults aged 65 and older, with 260 participants meeting the inclusion criteria. Various assessments, including continuous glucose monitoring and muscle ultrasound, were performed to evaluate muscle status.
