The New England Journal of Medicine
Apixaban and rivaroxaban are the most commonly used oral anticoagulants for treating acute venous thromboembolism. This trial aimed to determine the difference in bleeding risk between these two medications through a randomized, open-label study design. A total of 2760 patients were enrolled, with outcomes measured in terms of clinically relevant bleeding and mortality. The findings provide insights into the safety profiles of these anticoagulants in clinical practice.
