Tuberculosis (TB) is a significant global health issue, with millions of new cases and deaths reported annually. The disease can manifest as latent infection or active disease, with various risk factors influencing progression to active TB. This chapter discusses the transmission of TB, the clinical presentation of patients, and the recommended pharmacologic therapies for both latent and active TB. It also highlights the importance of addressing co-infections, particularly with HIV, in the management of TB.
