Subclavian vein catheterisation (SVC) is a common procedure, but the optimal approach remains debated. This study systematically reviews randomized controlled trials to compare the supraclavicular (SC) and infraclavicular (IC) methods for SVC. The review assesses primary outcomes such as failure proportion and first-attempt success proportion, as well as adverse events like arterial puncture, pneumothorax, malposition, haemothorax, haematomas, and arrhythmias. The findings are presented using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) approach to evaluate the certainty of evidence.
