Oncology
This case study details the presentation and management of a young male patient diagnosed with advanced lung cancer and brain metastasis. The patient initially presented with subacute neurological deficits, chronic fever, and systemic symptoms. Differential diagnoses considered included tuberculous meningitis, bronchogenic carcinoma, chronic bacterial meningitis, and multiple sclerosis. Investigations, including a brain CT scan, confirmed intracerebral tumors, likely metastases. The final diagnosis was advanced lung cancer with complications such as right-sided hemiparesis, paraneoplastic nodules, superior vena cava obstruction syndrome, and sepsis. The management plan focused on palliation and supportive care.
