The study is a multicenter, open-label, randomized trial that assigns patients with intermediate-high-risk acute pulmonary embolism to receive either catheter-directed thrombolysis with alteplase plus anticoagulation therapy or standard anticoagulation therapy alone. The primary outcome measured is a composite of death from any cause, recurrence of pulmonary embolism, or cardiorespiratory decompensation within 7 days. The findings aim to clarify the effectiveness of thrombolysis in this patient population.
