Post-procedural bleeding is a significant complication of percutaneous kidney biopsy (PKB), leading to the common practice of withholding aspirin to mitigate this risk. The authors conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis following established guidelines, focusing on primary studies to assess the impact of aspirin on bleeding events. A total of ten studies were included, with four contributing to the meta-analysis, encompassing over 34,000 PKB procedures. The findings indicate varying definitions of aspirin exposure across studies, which complicates direct comparisons and conclusions regarding bleeding risks.
