The ATTACK trial was conducted across 59 clinical sites in 16 countries, focusing on adults with laboratory-confirmed hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia, ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia, or bloodstream infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. The study aimed to assess the non-inferiority of sulbactam–durlobactam compared to colistin, both administered with imipenem–cilastatin as background therapy. The primary endpoint was 28-day all-cause mortality, with results indicating that sulbactam–durlobactam was non-inferior to colistin in this patient population.
