The research included 600 patients and focused on the primary outcome of first symptomatic SuVT over 12 months. Results indicated that low-intensity apixaban significantly reduced the risk of symptomatic SuVT compared to placebo. The study also examined secondary outcomes related to concomitant deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). The findings suggest potential therapeutic strategies targeting inflammatory pathways associated with superficial vein thrombosis.
