Infections significantly worsen the prognosis for inpatients with cirrhosis. This prospective cohort study, part of the CLEARED Consortium, enrolled adults with cirrhosis from 98 hospitals across 26 countries. Data collected included demographics, comorbidities, infection types, culture results, and antibiotic use, providing insights into the global burden of infections in this patient population.
