Effective statin therapy is crucial for secondary prevention following myocardial infarction. This research analyzes data from a large cohort of MI patients treated in Finland, focusing on the relationship between the initial statin dose and the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular or cerebrovascular events over a median follow-up period of 4.9 years. The findings suggest that higher initial doses of statins are associated with better long-term outcomes, emphasizing the need for adherence to current guidelines advocating high-dose statin therapy post-MI.
