COVID-19 Forecasting Team
The study aims to understand the effectiveness of past SARS-CoV-2 infection in providing immunity against re-infection and severe disease. It systematically reviews and meta-analyzes data from various cohort studies and case-control studies published up to September 2022. The findings indicate that protection from past infection is high for earlier variants but significantly lower for the omicron variant. The review adheres to PRISMA guidelines and is registered with PROSPERO.
