Global Name Change Consortium
Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), previously known as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), affects one in eight women and has been recognized as a misnomer that obscures its true nature. This document presents a rigorous, multistep global consensus process involving 56 leading organizations and over 14,000 participants to establish a more accurate name.
