Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality globally, with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) being a significant contributor. Despite advancements in treatment, the classification of ACS has remained largely unchanged for over two decades. This document aims to address this gap by proposing a new classification that better reflects the clinical realities and needs for immediate intervention in specific ACS scenarios. The authors highlight the importance of recognizing various electrocardiographic patterns associated with acute coronary occlusion and their implications for management.
