Intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) has been recognized as a rare cause of sudden death during or shortly after sexual activity. This study aims to elucidate the role of the physiological sexual response as a potential trigger for ICH by analyzing a retrospective review of medical records of patients presenting with ICH linked to sexual activity. The findings indicate that various etiologies contribute to sexual-activity-related ICH, with significant increases in arterial blood pressure during sexual activity likely playing a crucial role.
