The research is a follow-up analysis of the PROMISE randomized clinical trial, which aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of different noninvasive testing strategies for coronary artery disease. Conducted over a median follow-up of 10.6 years, the study assessed mortality rates among participants who were randomized to receive either stress testing or CTA. The findings provide insights into the long-term implications of these testing methods on patient outcomes, particularly in terms of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality.
