Despite advances in understanding cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), the global burden of CVD-associated morbidity and mortality remains high. This review focuses on the role of the oral microbiome in CVD, discussing the mechanisms of disease progression linked to oral dysbiosis. It synthesizes findings from recent research, emphasizing the growing interest in the relationship between oral health and cardiovascular outcomes.
