Effective management of HF often requires careful volume control, and acetazolamide has emerged as a potential adjunct to standard decongestion therapies. This article reviews recent findings on the safety and efficacy of acetazolamide in conjunction with loop diuretics, emphasizing the importance of proactive monitoring of electrolytes during treatment. The need for further research to explore the long-term effects and patient-reported outcomes related to this therapy is also highlighted.
