The research addresses the uncertainty surrounding the use of DOACs in patients with kidney dysfunction. It utilizes a patient-level network meta-analysis to compare outcomes such as stroke, major bleeding, and death among patients treated with standard-dose and lower-dose DOACs versus warfarin. The findings suggest that lower-dose DOACs may have a lower hazard of bleeding compared to warfarin, although they also present a higher risk of death in patients with worsening kidney function.
