Gefurulimab is a bispecific nanobody that binds complement component C5 and human serum albumin, extending its half‑life via FcRn‑mediated recycling. In the double‑blind PREVAIL trial of 260 patients, gefurulimab produced statistically significant improvements in MG‑ADL and QMG scores compared with placebo, with a safety profile consistent with other C5 inhibitors. The study highlights the potential of nanobody‑based therapeutics for rapid, subcutaneous treatment of generalized myasthenia gravis and discusses its future positioning among complement‑targeting agents.
